Summer in North Louisiana is heating up, and we are ready to celebrate! We welcome everyone to downtown Farmerville for the 63rd Annual Louisiana Watermelon Festival, happening July 24–25, 2026. Admission to the main festival grounds is entirely free, making it the perfect weekend getaway for the whole family.
Sweet Festival Traditions
The Louisiana Watermelon Festival celebrates the pride of our local farmers and community harvest. This year's official lineup features activities for all ages:
- The Grand Festival Parade: Watch the vibrant procession travel straight down Main Street.
- Watermelon Eating & Seed-Spitting: Put your skills to the test in our legendary family competitions.
- Growers Contest: See massive watermelons judged by weight, with the winners auctioned off to the public.
- Arts, Crafts, & Street Dance: Browse regional vendors on the Courthouse Square and enjoy live evening entertainment.
The Main Feature: "Battle on the Bonne" Boat Races
If you feel the need for speed, the action is moving directly onto Lake D'Arbonne! We are partnering with racing organizations featured across social media platforms like Facebook to bring you the high-octane Battle on the Bonne. Come out and watch some of the fastest outboard drag boats in the country battle it out side-by-side.
