A New Place to Play

Farmerville's new playground gives families a fun, safe place to gather, play, and create lasting memories.

Farmerville has a new reason to smile. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Town of Farmerville, the Union Parish Police Jury, and dedicated community leaders, families now have a beautiful new playground where children can play, neighbors can connect, and memories can be made for years to come.

Located at the corner of W. Bayou Street and Rodeo, the playground represents more than just new swings and slides—it reflects the power of a community working together toward a common goal.

A Vision Turned Into Reality

Every meaningful community project begins with someone who believes it can make a difference. For this playground, that vision belonged to Alderman Ricky Johnikin.

From the earliest planning stages through completion, Alderman Johnikin remained committed to creating a safe, welcoming recreational space where families throughout Farmerville and Union Parish could gather and enjoy time together. His dedication and perseverance helped turn an idea into a lasting investment in the community.

A Community Effort

Projects like this are never accomplished alone.

The Town of Farmerville and the Union Parish Police Jury worked together to make this playground possible, demonstrating what can happen when local organizations unite for the benefit of the people they serve.

Special recognition also goes to Police Juror Curtis Moses, whose support and leadership were instrumental throughout the project.

Countless others contributed behind the scenes by planning, coordinating, volunteering, and offering their time and resources. Every contribution, large or small, played an important role in bringing this community space to life.

More Than a Playground

While the new playground features colorful play equipment designed for children of all ages, its true value extends beyond recreation.

It is a place where grandparents can watch grandchildren laugh on the swings, where parents can meet other families, and where neighbors can strengthen the sense of community that makes Farmerville special.

Public spaces like this encourage healthy outdoor activity, foster friendships, and provide opportunities for families to spend quality time together close to home.

Creating Memories for Generations

The impact of a community playground lasts far beyond opening day.

Birthday celebrations, after-school adventures, weekend outings, and everyday moments of laughter will all become part of the memories created here. As children grow, this playground will continue serving future generations of Farmerville families.

Investments in parks and recreational spaces are investments in the quality of life for everyone who calls the community home.

Visit the New Playground

Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy the new playground located at the corner of W. Bayou Street and Rodeo in Farmerville.

Whether you're bringing the kids to burn off energy, meeting friends for an afternoon outside, or simply enjoying time with family, this new gathering place was built with the entire community in mind.

Building a Stronger Farmerville

The completion of this playground serves as a reminder of what can be accomplished when community members, local leaders, and public organizations work together toward a shared vision.

The Town of Farmerville extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who helped make this project possible. Their dedication has created more than a playground—it has created a place where friendships will grow, families will gather, and countless memories will be made for years to come.
