The Farmerville Town Council met in regular session at Farmerville Town Hall, located at 407 South Main Street, Farmerville, Louisiana, on March 8, 2021. The council members present were Mayor John Crow, Alderman Robert Allen, Thomas Nation, Caroline Gatson, Ricky Johnikin, and Kerry Hill

The roll was called and with a quorum present Mayor Crow called the meeting to order. Invocation was offered by Alderman Johnikin. 

As state law requires, Town Clerk, Gay Nell Pepper, offered the public the opportunity to voice their opinion on all agenda items at this time. There were no comments.

On motion by Gatson, seconded by Johinikin and unanimously approved to approve the minutes from the February 8, 2021, regular meeting.

On motion by Allen, seconded by Gatson and unanimously approved to approve the payables from February, 2021.

Alderman Kerry Hill arrived at this time.

On motion by Gatson, seconded by Johnikin and unanimously approved to accept the monthly revenue and expenditure report as presented.

On motion by Allen, seconded by Johnikin and unanimously approved to approve Class “B” Retail Liquor License for Cobb Sport Center, LLC, located at 701 Sterlington Hwy, Farmerville, Louisiana.

On motion by Allen, seconded by Hill and unanimously approved to approve a Class “A” Retail Liquor License for Rhett’s Tails and Shells located at 125 Old Hwy 15, Farmerville, Louisiana.

On motion by Gatson, seconded by Hill and unanimously approved to pay Fire Chief Billy Jung for his Comp-time during the snow/ice event.

On motion by Allen, seconded by Gatson and unanimously approved to block off Franklin Street from Main Street to Lafayette Street and Lafayette Street from Franklin to West Jackson Street on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as requested by the Union Museum of History & Art.

On motion by Allen, seconded by Nation and unanimously approved to authorize The Riley Company to do an evaluation of the Town’s water wells, ozone systems, lift station and the wastewater treatment plant.

On motion by Allen, seconded by Nation and unanimously approved to approve the appointment of Margie Winston as the District “C” representative on the Zoning Board.

On motion by Gatson, seconded by Allen and unanimously approved to adopt Resolution No. 03-21 pertaining to Municipal Pollution Prevention Audit.

There being no further business to come before the council this meeting was adjourned on this the 8th day of March, 2021, by Mayor Crow, upon motion by Gatson, seconded by Allen.
