Regular Meeting

 

June 8, 2026

 

 

 

The Farmerville Town Council met in regular session at Farmerville Community Center, located at 407 South Main Street, Farmerville, Louisiana, on June 8, 2026. The council members present were Mayor John Crow, Alderman Robert Allen, Kerry Hill, Ricky Johnikin and Thomas Nation. Alderperson Caroline Gatson was absent.

 

 

The roll was called and with a quorum present Mayor Crow called the meeting to order and invocation was offered by Oliver Neal.

 

 

As state law requires, Gay Nell Pepper, offered the public the opportunity to voice their opinion on all agenda items at this time. There were no comments.

 

 

On motion by Hill, seconded by Nation and unanimously approved to approve the minutes from May 4, 2026, regular meeting and May 11, 2026, special meeting.

 

 

On motion by Allen, seconded by Johnikin and unanimously approved to approve the payables from May.

 

 

On motion by Allen, seconded by Johnikin and unanimously approved to accept the monthly revenue and expenditure report for April as presented.

 

 

At this time a public hearing was held Ordinance No 02-26 pertaining to renewal of Delta Utilities Franchise Agreement.

 

 

On motion by Allen, seconded by Johnikin and unanimously approved to authorize MML&H to advertise for the water tank project under the Water Sector Program.

 

 

On motion by Johnikin, seconded by Allen to appoint The “Gazette” as the official journal or fiscal year 2026/2027.

 

 

At this time Alderman Allen introduced the 2026/2027 budget. Copies can be viewed at Farmerville Town Hall, located at 1024 Sterlington Hwy, Farmerville, LA, during regular business hours. A public hearing will be held to hear the views and opinions from citizens.

 

 

 

There being no further business to come before the council on this the 8th day of June, 2026. Mayor Crow declared this meeting adjourned upon motion by Johnikin, seconded by Allen and unanimously approved.
