Special Meeting
April 18, 2023
The Farmerville Town Council met in special session at Farmerville Community Center, located at 407 South Main Street, Farmerville, Louisiana, on April 18, 2023. The council members present were Mayor John Crow, Alderman Kerry Hill, Thomas Nation, Caroline Gatson, Robert Allen, and Ricky Johnikin.
The roll was called and with a quorum present Mayor Crow called the meeting to order. Invocation was offered by Alderman Johnikin.
As state law requires, Town Clerk, Gay Nell Pepper, offered the public the opportunity to voice their opinion on all agenda items at this time.
On motion by Allen, seconded by Johnikin and unanimously approved to go into executive session to discuss personnel
After some discussion Alderman Allen was called away on a fire call.
On motion Gatson, seconded by Johnikin and unanimously approved to come out of executive session.
On motion by Hill, seconded by Gatson and unanimously approved to hire a consultant for Police Department to help oversee administrative policies and procedures along with personnel duties.
On motion by Gatson, seconded by Hill and unanimously approved to approve the following pay rates for the Farmerville Fire Department:
1. Beginning non-certified patrolman $18.00.
2. All new and current certified patrolman minimum of $20.00.
3. All current patrolman making over $20.00 shall receive an additional $3.00.
4. All radio operators and additional $2.00.
5. The Administrative Assistant and additional $3.00.
There being no further business to come before the council, Mayor Crow declared this meeting adjourned this the 18th day of April, 2023, upon motion by Gatson, seconded by Hill, and unanimously approved.
