Regular Meeting
June 10, 2024
The Farmerville Town Council met in regular session at Farmerville Community Center, located at 407 South Main Street, Farmerville, Louisiana, June 10, 2024. The council members present were Mayor John Crow, Aldermen Robert Allen, Caroline Gatson, Ricky Johnikin, Kerry Hill and Thomas Nation.
The roll was called and with a quorum present Mayor Crow called the meeting to order and invocation was offered by Keith Jeselink.
On motion by Hill, seconded by Gatson and unanimously approved to add item 7 - introduce 2024/2025 Budget.
As state law requires, Town Clerk, Gay Nell Pepper, offered the public the opportunity to voice their opinion on all agenda items at this time. There were no comments.
On motion by Gatson seconded by Nation and unanimously approved to approve the minutes from May 13, 2024, regular meeting.
On motion by Allen, seconded by Gaston and unanimously approved to approve the payables from May.
On motion by Gatson, seconded by Johnikin and unanimously approved to accept the monthly revenue and expenditure report for April as presented.
On motion by Allen, seconded by Nation and unanimously approved to enter into a new Purchase-buy back agreement for a new roll-off truck and the return the old one and to authorize the mayor to sign all necessary paperwork.
At this time Ordinance No 01-24 pertaining to large gatherings was introduced by Alderman Hill. A public hearing will be held at the next regular council meeting to hear the views and opinion of citizens.
On motion by Allen, seconded by Hill and unanimously approved to approve the following rates for accident reports:
Standard Report - No Pictures
$5.00 - for first two pages
$1.00 - for each additional page up to $20.00
Pictures
$1.00 - for each sheet in black and white
$2.00 - for each sheet in color
On motion by Gatson, seconded by Nation and unanimously approved the following action taken by the Farmerville Zoning Commission:
1.To change the zoning classification of the property belonging to Brain Lowe, located at 921 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive to R3.
At this time Alderman Allen introduced the 2024/2025 Budget. I public hearing will be held on June 24, 2024, concerning its adoption.
There being no further business to come before the council Mayor Crow adjourned this meeting the 10th day of June 2024. Upon motion by Gatson, seconded by Allen and unanimously approved.
