August 12, 2019 — Regular Meeting

The Farmerville Town Council met in regular session at Farmerville Town Hall, located at 407 South Main Street, Farmerville, Louisiana

The Farmerville Town Council met in regular session at Farmerville Town Hall, located at 407 South Main Street, Farmerville, Louisiana, on August 12, 2019.  The council members present were Mayor M. Stein Baughman, and Alderman Jerry Taylor, Lavelle Maine,  Robert Allen,Caroline Gatson,  and Ricky Johnikin.

The roll was called and with a quorum present Mayor Baughman called the meeting to order.  Invocation was offered by Taylor.
        
As state law requires, Mayor Baughman offered the public the opportunity to voice their opinion on all agenda items at this time. There were no comments.
        
On motion by Taylor, seconded by Maine and unanimously approved to approve the minutes from the July 8, 2019 regular meeting.

On motion by Taylor, seconded by Allen and unanimously approved to approve the payables from July.

On motion by Taylor, seconded by Gatson and unanimously approved to accept the monthly revenue and expenditure report as presented.

At this time Clyde Jolly appeared before the council requesting that sewer and water service be ran to Windward Isle located at the end of Old Hwy 15 located in the city limits.

On motion by Allen, seconded by Gatson and unanimously approved to table the discussion about changing the hours of the discharge of fireworks.

At this time Ordinance No 04-19 was introduced by Councilman Allen.  A public hearing will be held at the next town council meeting to hear the views and opinions of citizens concerning the annexation of property belonging to Auger Timber located on Hwy 549 and Mill St.

On motion by Allen, seconded by Gatson and unanimously approved to authorize to advertise for a new mini excavator for the Water Department.

On motion by Allen, seconded by Maine and unanimously approved to install “No 18 Wheeler” signs on Gulley St.

There being no further business to come before the council, Mayor Baughman declared this meeting adjourned this the 12th day of August, 2019, upon motion by Taylor, seconded by Maine, and unanimously approved.
