The Farmerville Town Council met in special session at Farmerville Town Hall, located at 407 South Main Street, Farmerville, Louisiana, on June 20, 2019. The council members present were Mayor M. Stein Baughman, Alderman Jerry Taylor, Lavelle Maine, Caroline Gatson, Robert Allen, and Ricky Johnikin.
The roll was called and with a quorum present Mayor Baughman called the meeting to order. Invocation was offered by Mayor Protem Taylor.
As state law requires, Mayor Baughman offered the public the opportunity to voice their opinion on all agenda items at this time.
On motion by Allen, seconded by Taylor and unanimously approved to adopt Resolution No 06-19 pertaining to adopting millage rates for 2019 tax year.
RESOLUTION NO 06-19
BE IT RESOLVED, that the following millages are hereby levied on the 2019 tax roll on all property subject to taxation by Town of Farmerville:
General Alimony 8.38 mills
Fire Protection Facilities 7.520 mills
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper administrative officials of the Parish of Union, State of Louisiana, be and they are hereby empowered, authorized, and directed to spread said taxes, as herein above set forth, upon the assessment roll of said Parish for the year 2019, and to make the collection of the taxes imposed for and on behalf of the taxing authority, according to law, and that the taxes herein levied shall become a permanent lien and privilege on all property subject to taxation as herein set forth, and collection thereof shall be enforceable in the manner provided by law.
The foregoing resolution was read in full, the roll was called on the adoption thereof, and the resolution was adopted by the following votes:
YEAS: ALLEN, MAINE, GATSON, JOHNIKIN, TAYLOR
There being no further business to come before the council, Mayor Baughman declared this meeting adjourned this the 20th day of June, 2019, upon motion by Taylor, seconded by Allen, and unanimously approved.
