The Farmerville Town Council met in regular session at Farmerville Town Hall, located at 407 South Main Street, Farmerville, Louisiana, on March 12, 2018. The council members present were Mayor M. Stein Baughman, Jr, and Alderman Jerry Taylor, Caroline Gatson, Robert Allen, and Ricky Johnikin. Councilman Lavelle Maine was absent
The roll was called and with a quorum present Mayor Baughman called the meeting to order.
At this time, Mayor Baughman offered the public the opportunity to voice their opinion on all agenda items.
On motion by Gatson, seconded by Taylor and unanimously approved to approve the minutes from the February 12, 2018, regular meeting.
On motion by Taylor, seconded by Allen and unanimously approved to approve the payables for February.
On motion by Taylor, seconded by Allen and unanimously approved to adopt Ordinance No 01-18 adding an institutional sewer rate to our rate schedule.
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE
OF THE TOWN OF FARMERVILLE
BY AMENDING SECTION 9-69 PERTAINING TO INSTITUTIONAL SEWER RATES
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Farmerville desires to amend the Code of Ordinances of the TOWN OF FARMERVILLE, LOUISIANA, to amend CHAPTER 9, ARTICLE 3, BY ADDING section 9-69(a)(5) pertaining to Institutional Sewer Rates.
BE IT ORDAINED by the TOWN COUNCIL of the TOWN OF FARMERVILLE, that CHAPTER 9, ARTICLE 3, of The Code of Ordinances of the TOWN OF FARMERVILLE, LOUISIANA, is hereby amended to add SECTION 9-69(a)(5), to-wit:
Sec. 9-69 Rates and charges B Monthly service; tapping and reconnection charges.
1. The uniform monthly rates and charges for sewer services are hereby adopted as follows:
(5) The Institutional sewer rate for services shall be $3.00 per 1000 gallons of water used.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, that if any provision in this Ordinance shall be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions herein which can be given effect without the invalid provision and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.
Introduced the 12th day of February, 2018.
After reading of the above, section by section, the vote was as follows, to-wit:

On motion by Allen, seconded by Gatson an unanimously approve to approve the monthly budget report as presented.
On motion by Allen, seconded by Maine and unanimously approved to approve the overtime of $6346.66 from February.
At this time, Mr. Alvis Hill addressed the council pertaining to the drainage on Porter Street and the use of the Ballfield behind our Willie Davis Recreation Center.
On motion by Taylor, seconded by Allen and approved with one nay vote from Johnikin to revoke the right of way of the Old State Park Road located off of Long Lane Drive.
At this time, the council discussed the request to abandon Rodeo Drive. No action was taken.
On motion by Gatson, seconded by Allen and unanimously approved to accept and confirm the following action taken by the Farmerville Zoning Commission:
1. To change the zoning classification of the property located at 603 Maple St., belonging to Karen C. Jones to R3.
There being no further business to come before the council, Mayor Baughman declared this meeting adjourned this the 12th day of February, 2018, upon motion by Gatson, seconded by Taylor, and unanimously approved.
